Rough notes on a number of western Pleistocene sites (mostly Wisconsinan Age) containing fossil vertebrates have been accumulated over several years. These notes are being put on the web as a service to allow students and others to quickly ascertain the general nature of a site and to obtain a lead into the literature for the site. The bibliography currently on line is primarily associated with New Mexican sites or taxa; an attempt to include all the literature cited in the site reports eventually will be made. An "*" before a literature citation indicates that it is a primary source. Parentheses indicate that a literature citation was not double-checked at the time the notes originally were assembled.
There are a number of caveats. These notes were gathered for personal use, and quality and completeness vary considerably—facts should be verified in the original literature before use. Most site data have not been updated for several years, so completeness and timeliness should not be assumed. I hope to update the accounts over a period of time in several phases. The current aim is to get faunal lists associated with the accounts. To inform viewers when this has been accomplished for a given site (at least to the point of a partial list), "PHI" will be added to the index link.
