Age.Currey and James 198?: 11,810 ± 140 BP (UGa-636). Agenbroad and Mead (MS): 11,020 ± 180 (A-1660) on artiodactyl dung; 13,040 ± 440 (A-1654) on Bison dung.
Environment.Currey and James 198?: Area dominated today by pinyon-juniper, blackbrush, and sagebrush.
Paleoenvironment.Currey and James 198?: Late Pleistocene vegetation of Picea engelmanni or P. pungens, Douglas fir, Betula sp., and aquatic plants (Equisetum, Carex, and Cyperaceae. Overlying is a stratum dated at 8,690 ± 75 BP (SI-2417) with Quercus leaves, marking the beginning of xeric conditions.
Comments.Note presence of probable Mammuthus dung.
