Dr. William Mackay is a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and Curator of Insects. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Riverside, in 1981, majoring in Population Biology. He is a specialist on ants and termites.
Although trained as an animal ecologist, he has been working recently in plant ecology, specifically on the impact of military activities in the Chihuahuan Desert.
