General Description.—Includes (Nelson and Madsen 1986) Hardman Gravel Quarries (NW 1/4 and NE 1/4 Sec. 32, T1N, R1E, elevation 4800 - 5000 ft) and Near Bacchus (Sec. 8, T25S, R2W) southwest of Salt Lake City.
Age.—In early literature, early to mid Wisconsinan, but probably actually late Wisconsinan. Alpine Formation not shown to be a valid formational designation, and Currey et al. (1983) placed the quarries of Nelson and Madsen as sediments of around 14,500 to 18,000 BP.
