General Description.Lava feature ("bubble"). Hill with opening on top into a chamber widening below. Entrance ca. 9 ft. in diameter; ca. 30 ft. from entrance to top of debris mound, which is about 25 ft. tall. Pit bottom ca. 100 ft. in diameter. Details and sketch maps in Smartt, 1972.
Age.Holocene. 14C dates of 1700 ± 70 (TX 1557) on wood fragments from Microtus level. Wood sample just below that level, 1550 ± 60 BP (TX-1556A); charcoal from same levels with date of 8210 ± 220 (TX-1556B).
