TX: EL PASO CO.: 1555 m.

General Description.—Franklin Mts., ca. 6 mi E Anthony, 1555 m. Given (by Smartt?) as SW 1/4 SE 1/4 Sec 35, T26S, R4E, but seems to be farther inside Texas—needs to be checked as does elevation. Small limestone cave, badly vandalised, with vertical entrance on top of end of ridge. Several sites within cave, quite possibly of different ages.

Comments.—Presence or absence of Microtus montanus critical here. Invertebrate fauna includes the snail Gastrocopta procera (Smartt 1977).

Age.—RANCHOLABREAN, poss. some Holocene. Likely different sites within the cave with different ages. Smartt (1977:11) comments that site 29-D "seems to represent either a Recent assemblage or an interpluvial fauna." Others hypothesized by him to represent a late Pleistocene pluvial period.

Publications.—Harris 1984, 1985; Smartt 1972, 1977.
