General Description.—Following from Euler (1984): large solution cave in Mississipian Redwall Formation, inner gorge of Marble Canyon. 31.7 mi (51 river km) below Lees Ferry, AZ. Figures in Euler 1978 in error— UTM coordinates are 12/423125 m E and 4039600 m N. Elev. 3041 ft. (927 m). Cave 144 ft (44 m) above present, post-Glen Canyon Dam, level. Archaeological site Ariz. C:5:3 in Grand Canyon archaeol. survey. Prob. juniper woodland around the cave during the Pleistocene portion, judging by macroplants (Hevly, 1984).

Sediments above 20 cm date <6,000 BP (Euler 1978). Pleistocene-Holocene boundary perhaps at ca. 25-30 cm depth according to one author, ca. 20 cm according to Rea and Hargrave (1984).

Publications.—Brodkorb 1969; (Emslie 1987); Euler 1978, 1984; (Guilday, Hamilton, and Adams 1972); Harington 1984; Harris 1985; Hevly 1984; Kurtén and Anderson 1980; Miller and Smith 1984; Olsen and Olsen 1984; O'Rouke and Mead 1985; Parmalee 1969; Rea 1980; Rea and Hargrave 1984.

Fauna.—"H" indicates 0-20 cm level, presumed Holocene; "P" indicates >20 cm, presumed Pleistocene; "M" indicates midden, mostly probably Pleistocene, but some probably not.
